Best running routes in Golden Gate Park?

Looking to spice up my running routine and thought I'd explore Golden Gate Park more. Any fellow runners with tips on the best routes or loops within the park? Ideally, something that's around 5-10 miles.

Love running at GGP! Try starting at McLaren Lodge, run up to the Bison Paddock, then loop back around through North Lake. Adds up to a good 7-mile run with some variety.

Just run in circles until you get dizzy 😂. Seriously, GGP is overrated.

Back in the day, used to run from Ocean Beach through the park to the Conservatory of Flowers and back. Simple, straightforward, and around 6 miles round trip. Can't beat it!

Just moved to SF and loving GGP for my runs! My current fav is starting at the Rose Garden, heading to the de Young Museum, then following MLK Jr Drive to the Great Highway. Around 5 miles in total.

If you don't mind a bit of dirt, there's a great trail route—start at the Dutch Windmill, down JFK Drive, hit the trails towards the west end, loop around Chain of Lakes, then back through Lindley Meadow. Should get you close to 8 miles, and it's varied terrain.

The loop around the polo field is a solid choice! It's about 3/4 of a mile so you can do laps to make up your distance. It's usually not too crowded either.

I've been running in GGP for years. My go-to route is starting at the Conservatory of Flowers, heading to Stow Lake, then up to Strawberry Hill for some extra challenge. Then down to the Japanese Tea Garden and back. All in all, about 7 miles!

Definitely check out the Stow Lake loop! It's got great scenery around the lake and the distance is perfect for a good 6-mile run if you loop twice. Plus, it's relatively flat, so you can maintain a steady pace.
