Comparing Muni vs BART for daily commute

I've been using both Muni and BART for my daily commute for years, and I gotta say, BART is far more reliable when it comes to schedules. However, Muni reaches more nooks and crannies of the city. BART's cleanliness is hit or miss, but nothing beats the efficiency of Muni's underground routes during rush hour. Anyone else have thoughts on this?

Interesting comparison. Historically, Muni has focused on inner-city travel while BART was designed for regional connectivity, which is why they serve such different purposes even today.

Regardless of which one is better, let’s not forget that both Muni and BART are way more eco-friendly than driving. I try to support public transit as much as possible.

Honestly, both have their downsides. With Muni, I'm often late due to inconsistent schedules. BART is just insanely packed during rush hour ughh.

Public transit sucks. Just get a scooter or something.

I don't commute every day but when I do, I choose Muni because it’s just more versatile. BART always feels so... sterile?

Been commuting in SF for years now, and I'm with you. BART can be more reliable, but when it comes to getting to my exact location, Muni wins hands down.

Muni all the way! Sure, it's not the cleanest, but it’s cheaper and you get to see more of the city. I've had too many bad experiences with BART delays.

I agree on Muni reaching more parts of the city. Plus, the fact that it covers both above ground and underground lines makes it super convenient. But I still find BART's punctuality better overall. You just have to plan your day around their sometimes infamous delays.
