I spend 2 hours on Muni everyday. Let me tell you, folks, there's laws of the land here. No.1 on the list? Don't be that guy blasting music. Headphones exist for a reason! Also, space is limited, like REALLY limited - so backpacks off, people! What other 'rules' have you all noticed?

Love this thread! Rule Four from a transit nerd: Always have your payment ready before boarding. Nothing's worse than being stuck behind someone fumbling for change or trying to reload a Clipper card while a line forms in the rain. And let's not forget, if you're standing, stay clear of the doors; keeps things smooth.

Been riding Muni for a decade. Rule number two: the back seat is the unwritten VIP section. Want it? Get on quick and stake your claim early. This is SF - it's every commuter for themselves. And if you see someone needs a seat more than you, don't pretend you didn't notice. Offer it up!

First time poster here, but long time rider. I started minimizing what I carry just because of the Muni crunch. If more people aimed to travel light, we'd all fit better. Also, anyone else feel the 'don't make eye contact' rule is real? Or is it just me keeping to myself?
