Favorite hidden hiking spots in the Bay?

Hey fellow SF peeps, I’ve been scouring for some less crowded hiking areas to enjoy a peaceful weekend hike. Everyone knows Lands End and Mount Sutro, but I’m talkin real hidden gems. Preferably with a killer view of the bridge or some dope redwoods. Share your secrets!

So, we're sharing our secret spots now? Just remember to leave no trace, alright? Check out the Landslide Trail at Fort Funston. Not many hikers and some good views of the ocean. Make sure to pack out everything you bring in.

I'm too lazy for a full-on hike lol, but Glen Canyon Park has some nice trails. You can pretend you're not in the city for a hot sec.

Hidden gems, huh? I'm partial to the Purisima Creek Redwoods. It's down on the Peninsula, so a bit of a drive, but you get some dense redwood scenery and it's never too crowded. The cool canyon air is perfect for a weekend hike.

If you're into a bit of history with your hike, check out the Batteries to Bluffs trail. It's got some sweet views of the Golden Gate Bridge and some old military batteries. Also, not many people know about the Sutro Tower's little sibling, Mount Davidson. Higher than Twin Peaks and with some great eucalyptus groves.

Yeah, I'll tell you my secret spot but then I'd have to... you know. 😜 Seriously though, people forget about Angel Island. It's smack in the middle of the Bay and the views are killer!

Check out Mori Point in Pacifica. It's a bit of a trek but totally worth it for the coastal views. If you're looking for redwoods, go find the Mosaic Stairs and make your way up to Grandview Park. The view of the sunset there is beyond words, and it's not as crowded as Twin Peaks!

Cataract Falls over in Marin is seriously underrated, especially after a good rain. Trails are lined with ferns and the waterfalls are awesome. Not exactly 'hidden' but definitely less trafficked than some of the more popular areas!
