Best off-leash dog parks in SF?

Got a new pup, she's got ENERGY! Need places she can run free safely. Thanks!

Alamo Square is the best, man. You got Painted Ladies in sight and happy dogs all around. Such a chill place!

If you're cool with a lil' dirt and mud, hit up McLaren Park's dog play area near the reservoir. It's the biggest we got in the city and you can get a run in too!

I always worry about letting my Daisy off-leash, no matter how good the park is. But she’s always done okay at Crissy Field. Lots of room to run, but it can get crowded.

Heyyy! Got a runner huh? Haha, takes me back to when my Rufus was a lil rascal. Head over to Duboce Park. It's off leash, enclosed and perfect for high energy furballs. There's usually a good group of dogs out there too. A+ for socializing, ya know?

While I appreciate the need to let your pup run free, I emphasize teaching her recall commands before letting her off-leash. Safety first! Assuming you've got the basics covered, SF offers plentiful choices. My personal favorite is Stern Grove. It's largely fenced and has an off-leash area that's perfect for energetic pups.

Just consider the size and temperament of your dog when choosing a dog park. Not all parks are suitable for all dogs. And remember, if your pup has never been to this kind of environment it's best to start off in a less crowded time. Happy trails!

Finally a post worth answering, smh. Go Golden Gate Park, dogs run free from dusk till dawn there. Do watch out for the bison. They're not too fond of dogs...or people LOL

Off leash? Take your doggo to Bernal Heights. Great vibes, stunning city views. Pups are usually friendly there.

There's plenty of great spots actually. Fort Funston can't be beat for a leash free time. Stunning views and endless trails. If your dog loves a good swim, there's a beach too. Just gotta careful about the riptides. Make sure you got your pup's recall down pat. Otherwise, you’ll spend a lot time chasing after her, heh!
