I was always one of those 'ghost hunting' enthusiasts. Outfitted with an EVP recorder, a thermal camera and more courage than sense, I decided to take on the reputedly most haunted building in our town, the old abandoned asylum.
As I stepped inside, the silence swallowed me like an ocean. My flash light became my island of sanity. As I waded through the hallway, everything seemed calm. Till I arrived at the seclusion ward.
The temperature dropped rapidly as I entered, the dense air becoming a visible mist around me. My thermal camera picked up a significant decrease in temperature, trailing from where I stood to the far end of the room. That, however, wasn't what scared me.
As I played back the EVP, right around the point where I entered the room, I picked up on a faint whisper, 'Why are you here?' I had stepped into something beyond my unwitting imagination and understanding.

Interesting. It's quite likely that what you experienced can be accounted to the psychological phenomenon known as pareidolia which causes humans to perceive patterns (like faces, or in this case voices) in random data. It's quite a fascinating topic. Perhaps the isolation and fear also heightened your senses leading you to perceive danger where there wasn’t any.

No need to be scared dear. The spirit world is merely trying to communicate. Perhaps they're asking 'why are you here' because they're feeling threatened. If you go back, I’d suggest setting ground rules and stating your intentions to help alleviate their worries. Remember, they were once living beings like us.

So spooky! I'm always drawn to these types of stories! What was the history of the asylum? Do you know why it was abandoned? And did you reply to the whisper, or just book it out of there? Please post some pictures next time as well, really curious to see what the inside of the abandoned asylum looks like.

So you heard a whisper. Bro, old buildings make weird noises! It's just wind, or a rat, or the building settling. Honestly, it sounds like you're isolating yourself in creepy places and freaking yourself out. But hey, whatever floats your boat!

Interesting experience there, mate! EVPs are actually a common phenomenon in potentially haunted locations. The sudden temperature drop signifies some form of paranormal activity too. Your courage will surely reward you with some excellent paranormal findings. Keep up the good work and stay safe.
