I've been wanting to share this for a while. It happened last summer, still gives me the chills...
It was around 3 AM, I was returning home from a late-night movie with my friends. As I pulled up to my house, I noticed the porch light had gone out. The house was pitch black, which was weird since I always leave a few lights on. I felt a shiver creeping up my spine as I unlocked the door.
The second I stepped inside, I realized something was off. I couldn't put my finger on it at first but then I noticed it - the silence. It was deafening; eerie beyond words. Even the normal, faint ticking of the old clock in the hall was missing.
Suddenly, from the corner of my eye, I saw a dark, inky figure. My blood ran cold. I was frozen. It stood upright at the end of the hallway, a human-like figure but composed entirely of shadow. I could see the figure's eyes - two hollow, glowing entities staring right at me.
I wanted to turn and run, but my feet were rooted to the spot. The shadow figure stayed where it was, unblinking, unflinching. After what felt like an eternity, it slowly faded away into small tendrils of smoke.
Once it was gone, the normal sounds of the house came gushing back. The low hum of the refrigerator, the faint ticking of the clock, the rustling of leaves outside. My legs finally gained their strength and I bolted out of the house, the sound of my pounding heart echoing in my ears.
I live alone, and since that night, I haven't had the courage to stay overnight in my house. I’m currently staying with a friend, and plan to sell the house soon. It's safe to say, that was the most terrifying experience of my life.

Man, that's wild. But you did the right thing, if you felt uncomfortable its best to remove yourself from the situation, house or not. You can and will find a new, safe place to call home. All the best with selling the house and take care!

It was likely a case of 'sleep paralysis' combined with the power of suggestion. Your fear and returning home to a dark, silent house at 3 AM probably made you imagine this so-called Shadow Man. Brains play tricks on us pretty often, nothing paranormal here.

So, you've encountered a Shadow Man. They're known in the world of paranormal entities as omens of change. They generally don't intend harm, but their appearances can be truly terrifying due to their inky black forms. Now, I know this won't convince you to move back, but just thought you might want to know what it was. Stay safe, mate.
