I've been on the lookout for a trailer of this super rare horror flick from '82, 'The Shadow Man'. Got like a cult following but never made it to VHS or DVD. There’s no IMDB page, but mentions in old horror mags. Rumor has it a trailer played in a few theaters in the Midwest before the release got scrapped. Would kill to get my hands on that footage!

Holy crap, 'The Shadow Man'?!? Always wanted to see something from that. Anybody here ever check those old online databases for dead or private websites? Sometimes stuff like that gets uploaded and forgotten about for decades. Worth a shot!

The curse of the indie filmmaker — create something unique and have it lost to time. What's probably happened here is the distribution company owned the rights and when they went under, everything got tied up in legal hell. 'The Shadow Man' probably got buried in some warehouse or, worse, tossed out. Still, as a filmmaker myself, I know some of us keep everything. I'd focus on tracking down any of the production crew on social; someone might have a personal copy.

Hey, I'm from the Midwest and my dad used to manage a theater back in the day. He doesn't remember 'The Shadow Man', but then again he's forgotten more about films than most people know! I'll ask him if he's got any old stuff from the 80s.

Man, I've been digging through swap meets and estate sales for years and never even seen a whisper of 'The Shadow Man' outside of mags. If it was shown in theaters, there's gotta be a copy floating around somewhere. Someone's uncle or weird neighbor probably has it in their attic, haha.

Fascinating! 'The Shadow Man' is one of those holy grail type finds. To my knowledge, only a few promotional materials have ever been discovered. There are some private collectors that specialize in lost media who might be worth contacting. If you're not a part of them already, join a few more niche film forums and newsgroups - sometimes these types of trailers pop up in the least expected places!

Heard about 'The Shadow Man' in a horror convention panel once. Apparently, the director vanished after the production company went bust, making it impossible to find any leads. Any substantial collections from that time period might be a place to start though. Try reaching out to any old-school cinemas that were around in the Midwest back then, they sometimes keep archives. Long shot but worth a try.
