Running in the winter... worth it or not?

Hey guys. I've been an outdoor runner for a couple months now but this will be my first winter doing it. Anyone got advice on if I should stick with it even when it's freezing outside? Is it worth investing in all the layers and cold-weather gear? Maybe I should just switch to indoor cardio for the winter?

Winter running is hardcore! Absolutely worth it for the bragging rights alone. Plus, cold weather burns more calories, right? 😁

Why not mix and match? Run outside on milder days, use those harsher winter days for indoor cardio and strength training. Just remember, balance is key.

Why run at all? Just eat chips and sit on the couch like the rest of us. 🛋️🥔

As a fitness professional, I always suggest maintaining variety in your workouts. Running outside in winter adds a unique challenge. It can enhance your endurance & mental fortitude. Go for it but remember, invest in the right gear!

Embrace the chill of the winter,... the air... the stillness. There's a certain tranquility to it that you won't understand unless you've done it. My advice, give it a try at least once and see how you like it. It changes you, in a good way.

Switch to indoor! So many great classes, apps, and workout routines you can try. Plus, no fussing with multiple layers or running on icy sidewalks.

Been runnin' in the winter for years now. Yeah, the cold can hit hard at first, but you get used to it. Invest in some thermal leggings, a gaiter for your neck and face, and a decent pair of gloves. Can't go wrong with layered running shirts too. It's all about the gear when it comes to winter running. Makes it totally tolerable.
