My story from C25K to Ultramarathon

Hey folx! Going to share my journey from couch to 5k to ultra. Grab a snack cuz it's gonna be long.

A few years ago, I couldn't even imagine running a kilometer, let alone an ultramarathon. I was overweight, lazy, and seriously unhealthy. Then one day I had a health scare and realized it was time to make a change.

I started out with just treadmill walks because I couldn't keep up even a light jog. Steadily increased the time and soon I was able to jog 5 minutes at a stretch. This was a HUGE accomplishment for me.

Fast forward to today, I have run multiple marathons and last week I finished my first ultramarathon. The journey was tough, no doubt. There were times I wanted to give up. I had injuries, mental roadblocks, bad weather, my favorite gym shutting down- you name it. But I kept at it.

I am here to tell you, if I can do it, ANYBODY CAN. It is not easy but the human body is an amazing machine and what we can achieve with the right mindset and consistency is just beyond imagination. Here's to many more miles under my feet and I hope my journey can inspire at least one person out there!

Wow, I'd love to be able to run a marathon one day. I'm just starting out so fingers crossed. Could you share your training regime when you transitioned from a 5K to a marathon? Would be really helpful!🤞

I just like sitting on the sidelines, watching marathons while eating popcorn. 😂 But this is quite motivating. Keep it up!

Ultramarathon ain't no joke. Good job. Just keep an eye on those knees, they have a way of giving away when you least expect. Push hard, but be smart.

You mentioned injuries. How did you deal with them? Did they push you off track for long? I seem to get injured pretty easy and it really unmotivates me.

Congrats, mate! From a fellow ultramarathoner, that's a solid achievement. Keep at it and don't forget rest and rehab are just as vital as running. Keep inspiring!
