Favorite retro sweet?

Alright fellow nostalgia lovers – I need to know: what’s your all-time favorite retro sweet? Mine's gotta be those little cola bottles. The sweet and sour taste is unbeatable. Also, what happened to white mice? Used to grab them by the handful from the pick-and-mix section, but they're so rare now!

Remember when pick-n-mix was like, the wild west of sweet selections? I'm partial to flying saucers. The sherbet inside used to fizz in your mouth like fireworks!

To those wondering what happened to some of these 'missing' sweets, the answer lies in the ever-changing tastes and regulations. But don't lose heart! There are still places dedicated to keeping the retro sweet spirit alive, especially online stores specializing in old-school sweets.

I can't help but think back to the lime and strawberry bonbons. Bought them more for the powdery coating that made a mess of my school uniform! Always made my smile brighter despite parental warnings.

Pfft, retro sweets are overrated. Bet you can't name a better sweet than an Oreo. 😜

For me, it's gotta be Black Jacks and Fruit Salads. Used to swap them with mates outside school. Does anyone remember when Black Jacks turned your tongue blue? Those were the days!

White mice, definitely a forgotten gem! Back in the 80s, you could find them in every sweet shop. Part of the Haribo pick-and-mix range, but I think their popularity dwindled as more flavour options came to light. The milk-flavoured 'chocolate' was oddly satisfying. A few speciality shops might still stock them.

Ahhh, cola bottles are a classic! But, for me, it was always the aniseed balls. They lasted ages if you could resist crunching them, haha.
