Who's up for some PAW Patrol snacks? Thought I'd share my Rocky's Recycling Cookies Recipe. 😋
Ingredients: - 1 cup all-purpose flour - 1/2 tsp baking soda - 1/4 tsp salt - 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened) - 1/2 cup granulated sugar - 1/2 cup packed brown sugar - 1 large egg - 1 tsp vanilla extract - 1 cup rolled oats - 1/2 cup chopped nuts (your choice) - 1/2 cup recycled chocolate chips (choc chips from almost empty bags)
Instructions: 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). 2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. 3. In a larger bowl, cream the butter and sugars until fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla. 4. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients. Stir in oats, nuts, and chocolate chips. 5. Drop teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes. 6. Let them cool (if you can wait!) and then share with your fellow PAW Patrol pals!
Hope you enjoy these as much as I do! They're almost as good as Mr. Porter's treats!!

These cookies sound like they're ready to roll to the rescue from my snack attacks. But seriously, I'm all for sustainability and snacks that can bring a smile to your face and not hurt the planet, Rocky would be proud! If only I could stop eating the dough before it makes it to the oven 😅

Pastry chef here! I love the creativity of this recipe. If you want to go the extra mile, you can substitute half the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour for a nuttier taste that compliments the oats and nuts. Also consider using dark chocolate chips to add some antioxidant benefits. And always remember, never overmix when you combine the wet and dry ingredients; you want those cookies to be chewy, not tough!

This is such a cute idea! I love the idea of 'recycling' chocolate chips from nearly empty bags, it's super on-theme with Rocky's eco-friendly message. Gonna add some green food coloring to the mix to make them extra Rocky-fied! Also might sprinkle some crushed pretzels on top to add a bit of crunch. Thanks for the inspiration!
