In my day, when we spilled red wine, we'd just pour white wine over it and let it soak up the red. Sounds crazy, I know, but sometimes it actually lightened the stain! Nowadays, though, people want quick fixes. Sand it, refinish it, and be done with it, they say.

Huh, steam cleaners. Never thought I'd see the day where we'd just use water. Must admit they're neat. Been doing this for 30+ years and the amount of chemicals I used to use makes me cringe now.
