Hostel staff can be your best resource—they know the safe/unsafe spots better than anyone. Stick to your budget, but don't skimp on safety—like taking a bus at night b/c it's cheaper. Not worth it.

So I'm all about frugality and honestly, the only thing that's helped me deal with the rents here is to live way below my means. Cut out all the extra expenses, got a side hustle, and share an apartment. Still rough though 🙃

100% with ya. Y go broke on a single night out? Been there, done that, ain't worth it imo. Better option? Cook up a nice meal with a few close friends. Memories > Money any day 🙌
