Decided to test my claustrophobia, got stuck in an elevator on purpose. Managed to convince my buddy who does maintenance to let me do it after hours.
Was fine for the first 10 minutes, then my brain realized we ain't movin'. Heart kicked up like a dang jackhammer. Lasted an hour before I bailed drenched in sweat. Gotta admit, adrenaline was through the roof though!

Intentionally confronting a fear is an interesting psychological experiment. I've read that exposure therapy can slowly reduce the response over time. It's fascinating to consider the controlled conditions you've set up for your self-imposed experiment. Did you find that your anxiety decreased at all after the ordeal, or did it remain consistent throughout the hour?

I get the thrill aspect, but have you tried meditation? I imagine being stuck in an elevator is nerve-racking, but maybe some deep breathing exercises could help manage that panic. If you do it again, go in with a mindfulness app. Could be a transformative experience, turning the fear into enlightenment. Just be safe, okay?

Whoa, trapped in an elevator? Sounds like the start of a wild adventure or a horror movie. Ever heard of those urban exploration trips through abandoned subways? That's more my style, getting a glimpse of stuff people don't usually see, maybe with a bit less of the whole 'stuck' situation. But hey, you do you. Make sure to always have a way out though, or at least make that buddy of yours sticks around to help if things go south.

I absolutely feel you, bud. Just thinking about that situation is making my palms sweat. I've been working on my claustrophobia with small steps, like using restrooms on airplanes, but this... this is way too much for me. Thanks for sharing, kinda makes me feel less alone with my own panic just hearing someone else challenge theirs. Stay strong!
