Cartoon about monster hunters? Late 80s or early 90s?

I'm on the hunt for a cartoon I watched as a kid - had a bunch of kids who were monster hunters. They had this clubhouse, and every episode they'd deal with some new monster in town – vampires, werewolves, the usual gig. Art style was similar to Scooby-Doo but wasn't as comedic. They had a van, too, full of gadgets... Anyone else remember this?

Sounds familiar, can't place it exactly but that era was filled with 'teams' fighting all sorts of things. The van and gadgets push it away from the truly obscure ones. Art style similar to Scooby-Doo you say? I'd check out some lesser known Hanna-Barbera productions - they had a habit of reusing styles. Hope that helps!

Digging deep into the recesses of forgotten cartoons, your description seems to be spot-on for The Monster Hunters. Late 80s, check. Kids fighting monsters, check. Base of operations and a gadget-filled van, check. This series flew under the radar, often overshadowed by the more prominent giants like G.I. Joe or ThunderCats. Not a lot of merchandise or reruns, which is why it's not remembered as well. If this is indeed the show, you might find some old VHS copies or digital rips buried in the depths of the internet. Happy hunting!

I'm pretty sure you're onto something cause I saw someone talk about a show like this on another forum. I'm kinda new here but I think the show you're looking for had a cult following.

doesnt ring a bell tbh, might be mixin up a couple shows? The '80s had tons of monster stuff but the clubhouse and van thing is v specific. 🤔

The description you’re giving sounds very reminiscent of a certain genre of animations from the late 80s and early 90s, where supernatural and horror elements were quite popular among youth-oriented shows. One series that comes to mind is Drak Pack, where the protagonists are descendants of famous monsters, though it’s a bit earlier than the timeframe you mentioned. Another could be the animated Ghostbusters series, which featured a team including kids and had a similar vibe, minus the clubhouse. Lastly, I’d suggest looking into The Real Ghostbusters, as it aligns with some aspects you remember. The key differences you might want to look out for in these shows will be the tone and art style, which could help you further pinpoint the exact series you are recalling.

Just watch Scooby-Doo 😂 But for real, it sounds like a Scooby knock-off. There were a bunch of those, so good luck narrowing it down. Everybody and their grandma had a mystery van in the 90s.

You might be thinking of Monster Force. It had a darker tone than Scooby-Doo and came out in the early 90s. They definitely fit the bill with the van and gadgets, plus it had that awesome gothic aesthetic. It wasn't as popular, but it had some serious fans back in the day. Check it out!

Oh man, I totally remember this show! It's like ingrained in my childhood memories. Wasn't it called Monster Squad or something like that? Anyway the clubhouse was the coolest part, I always wanted one like that when I was a kid. Good luck finding it!
