You're definitely recalling 'Bucky O'Hare and the Toad Wars.’ It was pretty ahead of its time with the whole anthropomorphic animals fighting in space trope. The lizards/crocs you're thinking of are the Toad Empire. And there's a whole bunch of other animal-based characters like a four-armed duck named Deadeye. Shouldn't be too hard to find these days -- try looking for DVDs or streaming services with classic toons.

I think the show you're talking about might be 'Bucky O'Hare and the Toad Wars'. It's this old-school animated series from the early '90s. Bucky's a green rabbit, not a fox, but the space vibe and animal crew are spot-on with what you're describing!

Maybe The Bluffers?

Definitely 'Bucky O'Hare and the Toad Wars' as folks mentioned. The character design was iconic, with Bucky looking like a mix between a rabbit and a fox. And the lizards? Those were toad troops. This show was ahead of its time with some pretty solid environmental messages, too, buried in the plot about military-industrial complex. Pretty cool how it mixed serious themes with wacky space adventure. You had a good eye for rad shows, my friend.

I second that 'Bucky O'Hare' guess. The whole series is centered around this parallel universe where a war is going on between the United Animals Federation and the Toads. It only ran for a single season, but I remember those fight scenes with the toads - definitely reptilian, maybe croc-like as OP mentioned? It's a bit of a deep cut from early 90s animation. Used to be on YouTube, you could probably still find the episodes there.

Nah, The Bluffers isn't it, that was more about environmental stuff and not space. I think what you're tlking about sounds a lot like 'Bucky O'Hare and the Toad Wars.' It's exactly as trippy as you described, with anthropomorphic animals and space battles, plus the main character is a green rabbit tho, not a fox. Worth checking out!
