Ugh, kids today will never understand good TV

None of the shows today hold a candle to the classics. Remember 'Grit and Grime,' the detective series from the '70s? Pure television gold. You had complex characters, storylines that actually made you think, and none of this over-the-top special effects nonsense. Now it's all superheroes and reality TV. TV's gone to the dogs, I tell you.

I've never seen 'Grit and Grime' is it on any streaming platforms? Always looking for something good to binge with some depth.

Couldn't agree more, 'Grit and Grime' was a masterpiece. Kids today are all about instant gratification and shiny graphics. It's the slow burn of shows from the '70s that made them so impactful. And acting! The acting back then was leagues above what you see on the screen now.

I hear ya. Today's shows are all about CGI. They're more like long movies than TV. 'Grit and Grime' had the kind of authenticity you just don't see anymore.

There's much to be said about 'Grit and Grime'. Unlike today's serials, every episode was a self-contained narrative. You can't beat the combination of gritty realism and that '70s flair. It defined a genre.

LOL, you're dissing reality TV but some of it is realer than the 'real' in the Grit and Grime days. There's an art to the madness. 😜

Let's not view the past with too much nostalgia, shall we? While I concede 'Grit and Grime' had its charm and indeed presented more challenging narrative arcs, one should acknowledge the innovation in modern storytelling. And sometimes, complex characters do exist beneath the superhero capes, if one looks closely.

idk, I think some shows today are kinda cool. have you seen Mindhunter? It's got that old school detective vibe but feels fresh too.

Absolutely agree! Grit and Grime was my jam back in the days. They don't make 'em like that anymore. And that theme song? Iconic.
