Yo guys I’m wracking my brain tryna remember this show that had these blue-skinned aliens and humans working together on a spaceship. It wasn’t super popular but I remember it had some awesome space battles and a badass female alien lead. Ring any bells?

Omg yes, that show was my childhood! Pretty sure it's 'Celestial Bound'. It was kinda like a hidden treasure of the sci-fi genre. Those blue-skinned aliens are from Harlax 5 and they had this crazy advanced tech that powered the ship. And the space battles were on point! The main character, Andara, totally broke the stereotype of aliens in sci-fi. Such a badass! Worth digging up and binge-watching again.

I pride myself on my obscure sci-fi knowledge, so I’m really digging deep here. Are you referring to 'Voyages of the Azure'? It was a short-lived series back in the early 2000s, renowned for its CGI which was quite novel at the time. The blue alien was one of the first fully CGI characters in a TV series I believe. It's a shame it didn't take off, the philosophical undertones were quite excellent.

If I'm not off base, I think the show you're trying to recall is 'Outcast Starways'. Not super well-known but those who watched it loved the dynamic between the crew. It had this underlying political intrigue between the races and I remember those cool space battles you mentioned—they used actual models for the spaceships which made the scenes pretty believable for the time. And the blue alien lead you’re thinking of must be Captain Elara. It’s available on SpaceFlix if you’re looking to rewatch!

That sounds suspiciously like 'Starship Defenders'. It wasn't mainstream but what a gem! The blue-skinned alien was Commander Zyra, portrayed by actress Helena Marks. She was from the planet Neonis and was the second-in-command on the human-operated spacecraft - the S.S. Valor. The show had some deep lore about the Neonisian culture and their uneasy alliance with humans. You might remember the intense cliffhanger at the end of Season 2 with the battle against the void pirates. Such a shame they never got renewed for a third season.

I think you might be talking about 'The Andromeda Ascendant' show. It ran for a few seasons. The blue alien you're referring to could be the lead character, something like an AI-avatar named Rommie. She was super cool with all her abilities and definitely a badass female lead.
