Update bricked my phone during a job interview 😡

FML. So here I was, waiting for my interviewer to call. Decided to use those few mins to update my phone. BIG MISTAKE! Mid-update... boom, the phone dies. Now it's just a pricey brick! Missed the call, probably the job too. Anyone with the same issue on the latest OS update??

Everybody knows not to update anything when you're expecting a life-changing call, jeez. Try hitting up the support line of your phone’s manufacturer, maybe it's still under warranty. And call back your interviewer like NOW, explain it was technical difficulties, show them you can handle a crisis.

This is actually a known issue with the latest update. I had to boot into recovery mode, wipe the cache and install the update manually via ADB. There are tutorials online if you're not familiar, but it can be a bit techy if you haven’t done it before. Back up your data next time!

That sucks, man. Do you have a model number and OS version? Usually, you can find a recovery tool online specific to your phone. Might help. Also, check the manufacturer's forums, they sometimes have troubleshooting steps for failed updates.

SAME thing happened to me. Was just reading a book n figured it'd only take a sec. Now it's a nice paperweight. If you find a fix that doesn't involve wiping everything, hit me up!

Never update right before something important... that's like rule #1! Just bad luck, try explaining to the interviewer? Worth a shot rather than just telling em your phone died.

Ouch, that's rough! Did you try holding down the power and volume button to force a restart? Worked for me once when an update killed my phone. Hopefully you can get it unbricked without having to do a factory reset! 😩
