OS update bricked my phone, RIP

Installed the latest update that was supposed to 'enhance' my phone's performance. Surprise surprise, it's now in a permanent loop of death. Won't boot, just shows a sad logo. Perfect way to end my day :)

That really sucks, man. But hey, on the bright side, it might be a good time to upgrade to a new gadget? Silver linings, y'know?

Back in my day, we had removable batteries and could hard reset. These non-removable batteries are a pain. Try to drain the battery completely, then charge it to 100% without turning it on. Sometimes this can jolt it out of the loop. Good luck!

That's the worst, sorry to hear it 😞. It might not help now, but always back up your data before an update. For now, try to boot into recovery mode: Hold volume up + power button on most phones, then select factory reset. If it's still under warranty, contact the manufacturer or carrier ASAP!

This is why I NEVER install updates ASAP. Wait a few weeks, see if others are getting bricked. Some QA they got, eh?

Yikes, sounds like a botched update. If you haven't yet, try to flash the firmware manually. Most of the time, the manufacturer's website will have the stock ROM. If you're not comfortable with that, take it to a professional before you write it off completely.

Dude that sucks. Have you tried getting into the recovery mode? Sometimes you can wipe the cache partition or do a factory reset. Worth a shot before you toss it.
