Fully Unpacked: The Guide to a Disaster-Free Holiday

Okay, folks, here's the rundown. The worst thing you can do while heading out for your holiday is forget something important. So, I've made us a comprehensive packing list, cuz let's face it, we've all felt that sinking feeling of forgetting something, right?

  1. Passports & Tickets: Obvious, but can be easy to forget in the holiday hustle. Always place them in a safe but accessible place.

  2. Money: Both cash and cards. Don't use cash, you ask? Always have a contingency. ATMs can go down, cards can stop working.

  3. Phone & Charger: You'll need it for everything, from capturing the holiday memories to navigating through unknown territories. Extra points if you're taking an international adapter.

  4. Toiletries & Medicines: Travel-size toiletries to save on bag space, and don't forget to take travel sickness meds, or any other prescriptions you might have.

  5. Food Snacks: Trust me, you'll thank me when you're stuck in holiday traffic or flight delays!

  6. Entertainment: Long journey? Don't forget books, cards or portable gaming devices to help pass the hours.

Besides this basic list, pack according to your destination and the weather forecast. Most crucially, PACK AHEAD of time, double-check, and set reminders for last-minute items. Holidays are all about relaxation and fun, so plan and avoid the dreaded 'well that sucks' moment!

Ahem...not to be 'that' guy, but maybe, ya know, a small pack of survival essentials in case the world ends while you're holidaying? I mean wildfires, floods, alien abductions? Better unprepared, amirite?

A checklist...hmm, next thing ya know we'll need a checklist for making a checklist. But all jokes aside, ain't a bad idea. Especially for the forgetful folks out there 😂

Solid list! I'd suggest adding portable battery packs to it. Can't tell you how many times those have saved my butt when my phone died out in the wilderness. And if you're an adventurer like me, a multi-tool is a must.

Yeah, spare keys anyone? Who's never misplaced their car or house keys on a vacation? Or worse, had them stolen? Spare keys can be lifesavers.

Add a first-aid kit to that list. You might think 'barely gonna use it' but while traveling you're more likely to sustain mild injuries liker scrapes, blisters or the occasional burn. The peace of mind it brings is worth the extra space it takes. Essential, but overlooked.

Don't forget about number-coded locks if you're carrying any! Also printable itineraries for each day. Best to have soft copies in your phone but hard copies don't rely on battery life. Saved us a coupla times, trust me.

Great list!! Reminded me of the time my card failed and I had no cash. Was stuck in this tiny island in Greece, no ATM in sight. Nightmare! So Cash - absolute must people!
