Package delivered... to the wrong continent!

Ordered a special edition book from the UK for rnmy brother's birthday. Tracking it every day, excited like a kid. Today it says 'Delivered'! Just not to me. It's somewhere in Australia. I'm in Canada... How? Just... How? Customer service says it'll take 6-8 weeks to 'investigate'. I just can't even.

That book took a wrong turn at Albuquerque lol. Maybe it wanted a vacay down under 🦘😂 Shoulda slapped a maple leaf on it, might've stood a better chance!

Oh dear, sorry to hear about this mishap! As a fellow Canadian, I'd recommend checking with Canada Post to see if they can offer any assistance from our side, eh?

You should definitely record all the communication. Screenshots of the tracking info, emails/calls with customer service. If you end up needing a refund or to prove your case, this stuff is gold. Also, check out the shipper's policy for lost items; might be something in the fine print about timelier resolutions.

Ugh, that's the worst when a special occasion gets messed up by shipping. Have you tried reaching out on their social platforms? Companies hate bad press and sometimes you get quicker responses that way.

Been there, and I feel your pain. Two words: Charge. Back. If the seller won't play ball, get your money back through your bank and let them fight it out with the shipping company.

Oi mate, I'll keep an eye out for rogue Canuck parcels in the outback. But for real, check if that UK shop is willing to ship a replacement while they sort out their monumental mess. Good luck, bud.

Wow, that package went on a bigger trip than I did last summer lol. But seriously, when I had a similar thing happen, I contacted the postal ombudsman and filed a complaint with the carrier. It's a long shot but might speed up the ‘investigation’. 6-8 weeks is just ridiculous.

Yikes, that's some impressive level of screw-up. Did you purchase with a card that offers insurance or purchase protection by any chance? Sometimes credit card benefits can save the day in these weird situations. Hope your bro gets his book eventually!
