PSA: Always check your spare tyre too!

Folks, don't be like me. Driving down I-95 when my front tyre went POP. No biggie, I've changed tyres before. Pulled over, got my tools out, jacked up the car, and guess what? My spare tyre was flat too! Double whammy! So not just roadside assistance, but now I gotta buy two new tyres 'cause I ignored the spare. Check yours today, don't learn the hard way.

Bad luck strikes when least expected! I've got a whole tyre repair kit with patches, a heavy-duty jack, and an inflator. The whole shebang to handle all scenarios. My buds laugh, but who's laughing when they're stranded? Not them!

Been there, mate. One word: memberships. AAA or whatsoever your preferred rescue service is. They usually come check your car annually including the spare and it seems like a waste until one day it's not. Saved my hide more than once.

This is my nightmare. I carpool my kids and their friends all the time and if both tyres went out, it could've been chaos. I'm going to check my spare first thing in the morning. Thank you for the wakeup call!

Tip for everyone reading: If your car comes with a space-saver spare, consider upgrading to a full-size spare if you have the room. It'll save you a headache with limits on speed and distance. And remember, even if they're not in use, tyres age and deteriorate over time. Check the manufacture date on the sidewall (look for a code starting with DOT) and replace your spare every 6 years, no matter how new it looks.

Had the same thing happen during a road trip in Nevada. Middle of nowhere, no cell service, and a flat spare. Sat in a 100-degree heat until a trucker stopped and lent a hand. It was a nightmare situation. Every month I check the air now, lesson painfully learned.

Lmao double fail 😂 Next time maybe check if the whole car is made of cardboard?

That's rough, buddy. I always keep a portable air compressor in my trunk for situations just like that. It's a lifesaver, or at least a wallet saver in this case. Live and learn, right?
