Just spilled my entire coffee inside my laptop...

Today's gonna suck, I can feel it... Literally just made a fresh cup of Joe, set it next to my computer, and then my cat jumped on the desk, and BAM, coffee meets laptop. It's fried, won't even turn on. Gotta find a repair shop now or shell out for a new one.

That's what you get for not offering your cat a latte too! But seriously, if it's a Mac, they're kinda notorious for not getting along with coffee. Hoping you've got a backup! If you don't, consider this a very brewtal lesson in the importance of backups. No? Too soon? 😉

Maybe it's time to switch to decaf... or get rid of the cat. JK, JK, hope you can get your laptop fixed without spending a fortune 😬

The eternal battle between pets and tech continues... Last year, my dog chewed through my laptop charger while it was plugged in - miraculously didn't get shocked but I was out a charger and the 'no dogs in the office' rule was born. Hope your data can be saved!

I repair computers for a living and I see this all the time - coffee, soda, you name it. Here's the deal, if it won't turn on it might not just be fried yet, could be short/circuit protection kicking in. But don’t try to power it on, you might make it worse. Get it to a repair shop, a professional can clean it properly with isopropyl alcohol and might be able to save the machine or at least your data. Btw, if it ends up being dead, make sure to salvage the SSD/HDD, the data might still be there!

That sucks indeed. Immediate steps to minimize damage: 1. Power it off immediately. 2. Disconnect the battery if possible. 3. Flip it upside down to prevent further liquid spread, if you haven't done that yet. 4. Leave it to dry in a warm, dry place for at least 48 hours before trying to power it on again. And in the future, keep liquids far from electronics... just a tip from someone working in IT. Oh, and consider getting a keyboard cover next time, they're lifesavers!

Oof, that's rough. RIP laptop. Been there, spilled tea on mine a while back. Turn it off and unplug everything, and if you can, remove the battery ASAP. Try to dry it out and don't try to turn it on for at least a couple of days. Might save you from buying a new one. Good luck!
