So we were doing anniversary gifts tonight, and I realized I forgot to bring the super pricey necklace I'd picked out for her AT the store. Drove in a panic all the way back, and guess what, it's gone. What a waste of 2 hours and an evening that was supposed to be romantic. Well, that sucks.

RED ALERT! Mate, you've unleashed one half of the ultimate relationship-destroying combo: forgetting the anniversary AND the gift. Double whammy. Your only course of action now is a heartfelt apology and showing her how much you care. It's not about the money you spent, but the thought behind the gift. So, time to start brainstorming... you've got to do something from the heart. Best of luck.

Well, we often get caught up in the materialistic aspect of anniversary 'gifts' when what truly matters is the emotional connection. If she's upset, apologize sincerely, and make her feel special - a handwritten letter goes a long way. Perhaps next time, consider a joint decision on gifts; this way, there's less chance of forgetfulness and greater anticipation. Remember, the best gifts are the shared experiences. Good luck, my friend!
