Accidentally Flooded My New Apartment

So, move into this swell new place, right? First night, forgot about the tub filling up. Walked away to answer a call, water overflowed. All over the bathroom, seeping into the hallway. See ya, deposit. Well, that sucks.

Pro Tip: Get a tub that drains excess water, saved my butt more than once. Also, invest in a water alarm. Makes a loud sound if water touches it. Can prevent more accidents like this from happening.

Insurance agent here: You should definitely talk to your renters insurance if you have it. They usually cover accidental water damages in the policy. Double-check your policy and next time, don't mix phones and bathtubs.

Well, you're now the proud owner of the world's most inconveniently located indoor swimming pool. Congratulations, I guess? :P

Haha, new apartment turned into water park. Bet the landlord's thrilled.

Next time just put a timer on your phone whenever you start filling the tub. That's what I usually do to avoid forgetting about the tub.

Damn, that really does suck. Hope the damage wasn't too bad and the deposit was worth it. Better luck next time.

Haha, been there done that man. Always put your phone on silent when doing anything with water. OR just leave the bathroom door open, you can hear the water from the other room.

Dude, next time just tack a note on your bathroom mirror to remind you. It's an old trick us plumbers use. P.S. Hope your downstairs neighbors were cool about it.
