UFO's in ancient rome?

Yeah, so apparently Julius Caesar had his own Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Some Roman historians wrote about these 'fiery shields' flying across the sky. Bro, were the Romans just tripping, or were they getting alien visits? I bet ET was just checking out the Roman babes, lol.

Not this again... Pretty sure our Roman bros were downing too much wine and mixing it with a good dose of superstition. Fiery shields sound like a lit party trick but not much of an alien visit. We can't be taking ye olden tales at face value in the 21st century, people!

Okay, guys, let's stick to facts! These sightings have more mundane explanations if you ask me. Magnifying the extraterrestrial angle is pure speculation without evidence. Atmospheric phenomena, human-made objects, or even volcanic activity could produce similar events in the sky. Let's not throw Occam's razor out of the window just yet.

What if we're looking at it all wrong and the ancients had a closer relationship with the cosmos than we do today? Maybe calling them UFOs limits our understanding. Could be spiritual, could be alien... could be something else entirely. The universe is hecka vast and old, and Rome was just a blip on that timeline. Makes ya think, huh?

Those ancient Romans didn't mess around with their record keeping. Lots of things written down that seem spooky to us today. Who knows what they really saw, but it wasn't uncommon for them to interpret atmospheric or celestial events as omens or divine messages. ET checking out Roman babes is a stretch, but would make a funky fresco!

Lol, c'mon. Don't jump to the alien bandwagon so quickly. There's tons of natural explanations for what they saw. No need to invoke little green men when we know Romans loved to exaggerate and mythologize stuff.

Actually, accounts of these phenomena are pretty well-documented. Around 218 BC, Livy reported 'phantom ships' in the sky. There was also a recorded sighting a decade before Caesar's time where 'a thing like a flaming torch' appeared in the sky. Pliny the Elder referred to 'shields' gliding across the sky. Perhaps these sightings were meteorological or astronomical events that ancient technology couldn't explain.

Dude, it's a classic ancient aliens theory! Those 'fiery shields' could've been anything from comets to the Romans not understanding natural phenomena. But hey, wouldn't rule out a sneaky alien recon mission 😎.
