Ever had culture shock? Share your stories!

My first time in Tokyo blew my MIND. Like, vending machines for everything, toilets with more buttons than a spaceship, and rush hour that makes you feel like a sardine. Anyone else got cool or wild culture shock stories? Drop 'em here, I'm keen to hear!

Landed in Cairo and the history hits you in the face, man. But it's the insane bazaars and their hardcore haggling culture that got me. Haggle too low and you've insulted someone's grandma; haggle too high and your wallet cries.

Haha, ever heard about the infamous 'British politeness'? Well, brace yourself for passive aggression turned into an art form. And what's with their obsession with queues? London is like queue central.

Japan, right? I found a vending machine that sells PIZZA. Full, hot pizzas, no lie. Thought I'd entered the Twilight Zone.

If you want to talk about silent culture shock, let's talk about hiking in Norway. Nobody tells you about the 'Allemannsretten', basically, you can camp like anywhere in nature as long as it's not private property. Back home, you'd get fined or arrested for that!

First time in Australia, kept wanting to tip everyone until I finally remembered they actually pay their service staff decent wages. Really caught me off guard.

Went to Mexico City and tacos there are NOTHING like American tacos. So much better, fresher, and the variety blew my mind. Also, dudes on bicycles selling tamales out of a steam pot - why don't we have that here?!

India is a whole different dimension, I swear. Arrived there and the first thing? Traffic. Chaos unlike any I've seen. Cows are legit street pedestrians, and nobody bats an eye. I saw one just chilling in the middle of a busy road like it owned the place. Then, the colors of the markets, the smells of the spices, it was an overload for all my senses. Definitely an epic culture shock but in the best possible way.

Ok, so Paris totally threw me for a loop. Tried to use my high school French and got butchered. Also, they have these tiny coffees instead of the buckets we get here. Who drinks coffee from a thimble?? And don't even get me started on the metros. Felt like I needed a Ph.D. to understand where I was going.
