Solo female traveler heading to Morocco - Advice?

So I'm taking off for Morocco next month (super excited!!) but getting a bit nervous... Any solo female travelers been there recently? What's the dress code like, safety tips I need to know, and can I haggle in the souks or is that looked down on? Thanks for the help in advance!! <3

Too scared to bargain? Maybe you should just stay home and shop online. Morocco's souks wait for no timid traveler!

As an extensive traveler and having been to Morocco, I can say it's a wonderful choice. To address your concerns: modest clothing is preferred. Loose-fitting, non-revealing clothes and avoiding anything above the knee is a good rule of thumb. For safety, definitely be aware of pickpockets, and I recommend not wandering alone at night in less touristy areas. And yes, haggling is an art there; start low, keep a smile, and walk away if the price doesn't feel right. It could bring them down to your offer.

Morocco is super chill – just cover up, avoid solo walks at night, and go with the flow. Haggling is part of the fun, just be chill about it and you'll get some cool stuff for good prices. Enjoy the trip!

Enchanting Morocco awaits! The alleyways whisper ancient trades, while the market air is thick with smells of spices and leather. Dress wise, think 'desert elegance'—flowing fabrics, sandals, and sun hats. Be vigilant, move with confidence, and the souks will welcome your haggling attempts with open arms.

Haggling in souks looked down on? It's practically a Moroccan pastime. Dive in, but don't get carried away and pay more than you initially thought was fair. Oh, and try not to look too touristy; it's like wearing a 'please haggle me fiercely' sign.

Hey there! As a solo female who's been to Morocco, here are my tips:

Dress conservatively to blend in and respect the culture – think loose clothing that covers your knees and shoulders. A scarf can be handy too for impromptu head coverings in religious places or just protection from the sun.

For safety, be cautious with personal space, and try to avoid less populated streets at night. Keep your bag close and consider a money belt for extra security. Also, if you're feeling really uncomfortable, don't be afraid to enter a shop or a more crowded area.

As for haggling, it's totally expected in the souks. The trick is to be firm but friendly. Offer about a third or half of the initial price, and don't be afraid to walk away if you're not getting the price you want – sometimes that's when the real bargaining starts!

Do camels haggle over how many people they carry? Of course not! But you, my friend, should totally haggle in the souks! It's the Moroccan national sport 😂

Morocco's amazing, you're gonna have a blast! For dress, aim for modesty – long skirts or pants and covered shoulders should do the trick. Safety-wise, stay alert in crowded places and trust your instincts. You should absolutely haggle in the souks, it's part of the experience! Start at a third of the asking price and enjoy the banter. Just be respectful and remember it's all in good fun.
