Airplane mode? More like Airplane mood!

Hah! Who else just doesn't switch their phone to airplane mode when flying? Like it even does anything LOL. Airplane mood, am I right?

The whole airplane mode thing can feel a bit ceremonial, but it does have its bases in safety and protocol. Besides, with in-flight entertainment and Wi-Fi available, I barely notice whether my phone's connectivity is on or off.

Oh, so you're THAT guy everyone hears about - the one responsible for a delayed takeoff cuz the pilot announces someone's phone isn't on airplane mode 😂 just kiddin' but srsly, just flip the switch lol

Just do it, mate. It's not that hard to switch off to airplane mode, and besides, you get some peace without incoming calls or texts. Embrace the disconnection.

Airplane mode is mostly a habit for me now. Plus, it saves battery life since your phone isn't constantly searching for a signal at 35,000 feet. But it's true that airplane systems are so advanced now that a phone is unlikely to cause issues.

I always follow the rules cuz you're not just responsible for your own safety, but everyone else's too. Imagine something happened and you knew you didn't put your phone on airplane mode... could you live with that guilt?

Actually, the concern is mostly outdated – modern avionics are well-shielded, and your phone's signals are weak. However, the FCC still has regulations against using phones on certain frequencies during flights because it can mess with cell towers on the ground. Your phone trying to connect at high speeds can lead to excessive handoffs and reduced performance for the towers.

Lol totally get you on the airplane mood vibe, but I do switch it to airplane mode just to play it safe. You never know what kind of interference your phone might cause to the comms even if it's like super unlikely.
