Best budget meals in SE Asia??

Guys I'm backpackin' Southeast Asia for the next few months and I'm on a tight budget. What's the go-to cheap eats I gotta try? Lookin' for hidden gems, street food, local faves. Thanks a ton!

Cheap eats are great until you're doubled over with food poisoning. Be careful with those 'hidden gems'. Always check if it's clean, how they handle the food, and if it's a busy spot. Better safe than sorry!

Local tip - in Thailand, ask for 'Phat kaphrao' - it's stir-fried meat with basil and chilies over rice. Watch out, it can get spicy but omg it is so good and like $1-2. Def a must-try!

Can't stress this enough, hit up the street food markets in every place. Each region has its own flavor. In the Philippines, try Chicken Adobo from a local carinderia. It's hearty, historic, and won't break the bank. And don't even think of skipping out on Malaysian food courts, where a plethora of dishes won't cost ya more than a couple bucks.

Look for canteen-like places with a 'point to what you want' system, like in Indonesia or Thailand. Lot of rice, some meat, can be super cheap. +1 on street food. Just make sure it's hot and cooked in front of you to avoid getting sick.

For real hidden gems in SE Asia, you gotta try local markets early in the morning where they sell home-cooked meals. In Indonesia, Warung stalls are the bomb. Get yourself some Nasi Goreng or Mie Goreng for a couple of bucks. It's the most legit experience you can get plus it's delish af!

Depending where you are, but in Thailand, you can't go wrong with street pad thai. Super cheap and filling! Also, don’t miss the mango sticky rice.

Oh man, you're in for a treat with the street food scene! Vietnam is my fave for budget eats - Banh Mi sandwiches are a complete meal for like a dollar. Head to the stalls where you see lots of locals, that's where the good stuff's at.
