that one childhood cake, can't remember the flavor???

ok so when I was a kid my grandma made this cake. it was moist, probably had some fruit thing in it? bananas or apple or something? i also think there was nuts, and a really simple icing. not too sweet. been craving it like crazy, but that’s all I got... anyone got a recipe that sounds like that or am i just imagining this amazing cake?

ur grandma secretly fed you fruitcake and u liked it lol! Just kidding, but wouldn't be surprised if it's some secret family recipe that she made up. Have you asked your family? Or maybe it's just a dream cake, the kind that exists only in your head. Good luck finding that unicorn!

Moist, nuts, simple icing... rings a bell but can’t put my finger on it 😆 maybe a banana nut cake with like a glaze? Or one of those dump cakes, you know where you just toss stuff in? Good luck on your quest lol

This is gonna sound off the wall, but consider… carrot cake. It's not banana or apple, but it's moist, got nuts, and the icing is just cream cheese and powdered sugar. Not that sweet and hits all the right spots. Might just be a fit!

Why not experiment and create your own version? Maybe make a banana nut cake with a twist of apple sauce to keep it moist. Throw in some walnuts and top it with a simple maple syrup icing. Could turn out to be your new childhood favorite!

Oh the mysterious childhood cake, it haunts us all. Bananas? Apples? Who knows, maybe it was a fruitcake and you're just blocking out the trauma. Ha! But seriously, maybe banana bread cake? It's like banana bread but fancier? Google's your friend.

idk apples and nuts... maybe some type of walnut apple spice cake? my fam has this age-old recipe that kinda fits the bill. it's spicy, not like hot spicy but like cinnamon and nutmeg, you know? Maybe that’s it?

Hi there! Your description reminds me of an old-fashioned Apple Dapple cake. It’s moist with chunks of apple, walnuts or pecans, and sometimes coconut. There’s a boiled brown sugar icing that’s drizzled over, super simple but not overly sweet. I can dig through my grandma's recipes if you think that sounds right!

Sounds like you might be talking about a hummingbird cake! It's got bananas, pineapple, spices, and pecans usually. Topped with cream cheese frosting that’s not too sweet but so good. Just look up a hummingbird cake recipe, might be what you’re looking for :)
