Most definitely you're reminiscing about Magic Tree House, which is based on the book series. The characters' time-traveling adventures were meant to ignite interest in history among young audiences while providing exciting, action-packed stories. Not entirely sure if the show you're talking about is from 1990s or a more recent adaptation, though. The original book series has been incredibly popular, so wouldn't be too surprised if there have been multiple attempts to visualize the magic treehouse adventures.

What you've described is absolutely Magic Tree House. It's not just your ordinary cartoon; it brings elements of actual historical periods to life, which is why it seemed so educational. The treehouse in the show acts as a portal and allows the protagonists to experience firsthand events like Ancient Egypt's grandeur or the dinosaur era excitement. It's a series that makes learning fun without you even realizing it.

I'm pretty sure you're referring to the animated series Magic Tree House. It's an adaptation of the popular children's book series by Mary Pope Osborne. The siblings, Jack and Annie, travel through time using a magical treehouse to witness and participate in various historical events. It's a blend of adventure and history, kind of like edutainment. If memory serves, the animation's style is distinctive for its time as well.
