Yo team, I need your ghostly expertise. Let's track down a horror-themed show that haunted my evenings. Mid-2000s, I reckon? There was this squad, not 'Ghostbusters' but similar, who had to lock up spirits. Each episode was a new ghost, but they all connected into a bigger plot. Got any ideas? 👻

Although not exactly high-profile, 'Special Unit 2' fits your description. Mid-2000s, under-the-radar show about a Chicago cop dealing with supernatural beings which they referred to as 'Links', and yes, locking them up was a thing. Mostly forgotten, but had a cult following. Worth checking out?

Scratching my head on this one. The mid-2000s does bridge the gap for many supernatural shows. 'Supernatural' started in 2005 but doesn't quite fit your ghost-locking theme. 'Ghost Whisperer' aired in that time frame, yet again, no squad. Can you recall if it skewed more towards teen audiences or adults? Themes? Particular episodes? This extra detail might dispel the fog, so to speak.

Sounds like 'The Dresden Files' to me – aired around that time and it's all about a wizard in modern times dealing with supernatural threats. Not exactly a squad, but he often had help. If not that, could be 'Supernatural', though that's not quite 'locking up' spirits.
