It was called "Truly Terrifying" and it used to air on satellite from 1987 to 1989.
The channel broadcasted horror movies, horror series, and a talk show that shared the same name as the channel, hosted by Terry Wogan, dressed in a Dracula costume.
The channel's logo was utterly terrifying. The stacked channel's name in a specific red font with blood dripping. It would air during the time The Arts Channel (defunct since 1989 or 1990) didn't air.
The channel also had a slogan, which said: "Enter the World of Horror...With Truly Terrifying!".
Sadly, the channel hasn't been resurfaced, no images, no videos, not even a logo. It hasn't been even shown on TVARK. Can anyone find the channel?

I'm all about rescuing old TV stuff from obscurity. This is a tough one. Maybe you could check out university archives or national libraries that keep broadcasting records? It wasn't uncommon for small channels to come and go without much trace during the satellite boom. If it was as niche as you say, there might not be much out there. I'll reach out to some of my contacts who are into broadcasting history and see if they've heard anything.

Ok, I've been a massive fan of '80s TV and I did some digging. Here's the thing - I found no concrete record of 'Truly Terrifying.' However, there was a local access channel that had a horror night theme around that time. UK channels had some quirky pop-up stuff for horror, especially around Halloween. Terry Wogan as host though, that's a bigger mystery. Maybe you're fusing two different memories?

Honestly sounds like an urban legend or a misremembrance. Haven't found any satellite listings from back then that show a 'Truly Terrifying' channel. Wogan in a Dracula outfit seems more like a Halloween special thing than a regular show. Perhaps it was a one-time event that left a big impression?

I pride myself on knowing a lot about TV history, but this one's tough. 'Truly Terrifying' isn't ringing any bells. Broadcasting horror movies and shows at night was a common thing for underutilized channels—they'd flip the switch for adult content. But a Terry Wogan hosted show is news to me. Could be misremembering or it was a super obscure operation. Maybe it was a regional thing? If it's real, it's a well-kept secret. I'll keep an ear to the ground though!

Man, this brings back memories! I vaguely remember something like that. Tried digging through some old TV guides but no luck. It rings a bell but can't find anything solid. Might wanna check some forums specifically for British TV history or satellite TV enthusiasts.
