Hey, if you got a part of the melody kinda figured out, try humming it into Shazam or Soundhound. Those apps are like magic sometimes!

hey this might be totally off but maybe it's not an old song at all, have you heard 'Home' by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros? It's got this indie-folk western vibe and lots of whistling, could be remixed in the ad you saw.

Y'all might be thinking too modern. Try 'Ghost Riders in the Sky' by Johnny Cash. Not sure about commercials but it's a classic and it's got plenty of that wild west guitar.

If you're digging for that spaghetti western sound, Ennio Morricone is your composer. His 'Ecstasy of Gold' also fits your description, plus has been used in tons of media outside the films themselves. Definitely worth a shot.

I've definitely heard some western tunes in ads before. It could be 'The Good, The Bad and The Ugly' theme, but don't forget commercials also use 'Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood' by Santa Esmeralda, it's got a funky kind of western vibe. Maybe that whistle got remixed into the version you heard?

Sounds like you're thinking of 'The Good, The Bad and The Ugly' theme song. That's like the iconic western whistle. Look it up on youtube, should be the first thing that pops up!
