Ah, back when 'Tom and Jerry' was still THE cartoon... The old classics hold up, guys. Clean animation, simple but engaging plot points, visual gags. That's what cartoons are about, not this overly complicated jargon-filled mess you get these days. Any love for old cartoons here?

As an animation student, I absolutely adore the workmanship in old cartoons. It's not just about the stories, but also the dedication to each frame, each background. They literally had to draw everything out sentence by sentence. So yeah, props to old cartoons for paving the way. But also, modern cartoons aren’t all bad. Their storytelling and complex character development? Chef's kiss

Well, I'm big on old and new cartoons.
Old cartoons like 'Tom and Jerry' and 'Looney Tunes' are definite classics. Their slapstick humor, clean lines, and simple art styles are definitely iconic. But it's also important to pay tribute to what modern cartoons are doing.
Shows like 'Steven Universe' and 'The Legend of Korra' tackle important social issues and have complex, layered narratives which is definitely something new and interesting. They're more representative and, in my opinion, more creative.
Can we just endorse both without putting one down?

Hey now, some of the modern animations are really cool! Ever seen 'Gravity Falls' or 'Adventure Time'? They're deep, emotional, and beautifully animated. Not to discredit 'Tom and Jerry' or anything, but I personally like the complexity of new cartoons.
