Hey peeps, need help remembering this old cartoon from when I was a kid. It was probably early 2000s, about a bunch of kids solving mysteries with a ghost dog. The dog was like, the spirit of a famous historical pup or something, and he helped them by phasing through doors and stuff. It's not Scooby-Doo lol, but kinda similar vibe?? They had this cool treehouse as their HQ. It’s driving me bonkers cuz I used to LOVE it and I can’t even find it online. Anyone remember??

YES! It's 'Haunted Hound High-Jinks'. That’s it! The ghost dog was called Specter, but not like the scary ghost, more like friendly and clever kind. And their treehouse, man I always dreamed of having one like that. They planned their missions there, and that’s where Specter would usually find some secret passage or something. Wow, there's gotta be torrents or screencaps somewhere. Now I gotta watch this again!

From your description, it appears you're referring to 'Ghost Dog Legends'. The show was part of a short-lived block of mystery-themed children's programming on a cable network that often gets overshadowed by bigger '00s shows. The dog, named Captain, was the spectral companion to a group of diverse kids who fancied themselves as detectives. Their headquarters was indeed an ornate treehouse, a nod to classic adventure clubhouses. This series didn’t get much in the way of merchandise or a DVD release, which might be why it’s elusive online.

Sounds like you’re thinking of 'The Phantom Pooch'. That was such a rare gem, not too many remember it. The ghost dog's name was Specter, and he was supposed to be the spirit of some historical explorer's dog. They all hung out in a wicked treehouse and solved local mysteries, with Specter phasing through stuff to collect clues. Such a cool concept! Shame it didn’t get as big as Scooby.
