Old telly show with the talking car?

Gone blank on the name of that show from I think the 80's or maybe early 90's? Had a car that could speak and they went on mad missions and stuff. Not Transformers, the other one. It's not 'Knight Rider' either, swear it was British...

Oh blimey, this is a tough one. Not a lot to go on. Wasn’t there a show called Roger and the Rottentrolls that had a car in it? It had Jim Broadbent’s voice or something. It's for kids but always worth a shot with these old series lol.

You might be mixing shows up. British series with actual talking cars are super rare. Besides Knight Rider which was ofc American, most shows had smart cars, not chatty ones. And the ones that did talk like in Transformers or Brum were usually not British or not aimed at adults.

Mate, you've got me stumped. British show, 80s or early 90s, with a talking car... and it's not Knight Rider? You sure it's not a case of the Mandela effect or something? Been looking through old TV guides and nothing's popping up.

lol are you sure you're not confusing it with Herbie? That little bug didn't yak but sure had personality. Or maybe you dreamed it up, mate. Talking cars, what's next? Flying buses?

I reckon you're after Come Back Mrs. Noah – it's an old comedy where they wind up in space and one of the few British shows that had a sort of talking vehicle, albeit a spaceship rather than a car. Bit of a long shot but thought I'd throw it out there!

Might it be the show My Mother the Car? Wait no, that's American and way too old... Can't think of a Brit show with a talking car tho 😕

Sounds like you're thinking of Bugs. Had a team using all sorts of techy gadgets, including a talking car. Pretty cool show from back in the day, more about high-tech spies and all that jazz than cars with personalities. Maybe not as much talked about as Knight Rider but had its charm!

Oh mate, that rings a bell. U sure it's not Knight Rider tho? That's the one that immediately comes to mind. There was 'Brum' as well but that was more for kids and the car didn't talk, just made beep sounds and moved on its own.

Dream Street? It aired in 1999 on CITV.

A talking British car in the 80s? You're having a laugh, mate. Maybe you dreamed it up after one pint too many cause that’s not ringing any bells and I’m a walking encyclopedia of useless tele knowledge, haha.

Ah, sweet memories... but might you be on about 'Chocky'? Now that was a show that had some trippy elements. Not quite a talking car scenario but involved an alien intelligence, and that's bang on in the 80's timeline. Bit of a long shot, but it came to mind reading your post.

Defo not Brum, that little car didn't have any chat. Sounds like you could be thinkin' of 'Bugsy', but it's a real obscure one mate. Didn't last too long, had a sentient car but it aired late 80's. Check it out, maybe it'll jog your memory.

Nah, Dream Street is way too late for what OP is asking, I watched that with my little sis. The one on bout sounds older. Was it 'Brum'? Had a little car that went on adventures, but it wasn't talking as far as I recall. It's not an exact match, but it came to mind.
