I used to watch this when I was a kid. It was stop motion, was narrated by some guy. It was about some woodland animals discovering new things, I don't think it was Sylvanian Families or Animals of Farthing Wood. It aired in the 80s, and I think it reran on TCC when it existed. Sadly, I can't remember the name of the show.

How interesting! I love a good TV mystery. This really reminds me of Brambly Hedge (as someone mentioned, early 90s), but also The Secret World of Og, which was about a group of kids discovering a strange world underneath their playhouse. Not animals, but the 'discovering new things' bit fits. There was also Magic Roundabout, could that be it, or too far off?

This might be a long shot, but are you thinking of 'The Trap Door'? It's not exactly woodland or animals in the cutesy sense, but it was stop motion, narrated, and kinda had creatures learning new things in a way. Not to mention it was the right era and def on TCC.

I'm pretty sure you're remembering David the Gnome. It was dubbed over in English with a narrator and had woodland creatures and all that jazz. Originally not a UK show, but fits the bill and was definitely on TCC. Aired in the 80s, you might remember Swift the fox?

If it's not Animals of Farthing Wood or Sylvanian Families, you might be thinking of The Adventures of Parsley or The Tales of the Tooth Fairies. They both kinda fit your description but not exactly woodland-themed or from the 80s. There was also Brambly Hedge, but that was early 90s. Will keep an eye out for you!

oh man, thinkin about TCC brings back memories... i dont think it was Wind in the Willows, cos that was more TV series like. could be The Wombles, though they're not exactly 'woodland creatures' they were always finding stuff. worth checking? also remember 'The Herbs', another stop motion but less on the woodland side.

Sounds familiar... was it maybe 'The Wind in the Willows'? That was stop-motion and from the 80s. Used to love the narrations in it, really soothing.

If it isn't 'The Wind in the Willows,' maybe check out 'The Wombles.' It's not totally woodland-based but it's got the stop motion and it's a classic from that era. They were always collecting and recycling stuff, proper environmentalists before it was cool.
