1st post ere'. I've been rummaging around my old man's garage and came across a rusty can of beer. Greenish, with gold letters on it. From what I recall, it had a bitter taste, but my old man loved it. Already threw it away, but still got the image in my head. Anyone remembers a beer like that? Cheers.

Hmmm... green can, gold letters, and bitter, eh? Well, I'd put my money on Carlsberg. It's a pretty prominent European lager and that color scheme you're describing sounds a lot like the cans they used to produce. Mind you, they've moved more towards aluminum bottles in recent years, but the design still holds true. Cheers!

Sounds like you stumbled onto an old Carlsberg can. They've got that unique green with gold lettering. Don't know many other beer brands both popular and old enough to fit your description. Btw, if your old man liked bitter beers, you should try IPA or a bitter. Cheers!

Hey there! Sounds like it might be a Carlsberg. A rather easy-to-find pilsner that has been around for a long time. Their cans are usually green with gold lettering. In fact, Carlsberg actually holds the trademark for that green, truth be told. It’s got a rather distinctive hoppy bitterness to it, which is why some people love it and others don't. But yeah, it could be another brew, without a pic or more description it's hard to be sure.

Likely you're referring to a brand called 'Carlsberg'. It's a Danish pilsner that has been around since 1847. Tends to have somewhat of a bitter taste, which fans appreciate it for. They're known for their signature green can and the lettering is gold, which matches with your description.
