Trying to find proof of Vegemite Vegetime

Yes, I'm the same one who posted about SuperKetchup and SuperEucalyptus.

Back then, when I used to be a fan of Lift-Off, there existed a variant of Vegemite called Vegetime. The packaging featured a kid eating Vegetime, and I think Vegetimes were on the go versions of Vegemite if you didn't have bread for spreading it or even a knife.

I remember you were forced to use scissors or teeth to open Vegetimes, and then squeeze it (like a melted ice pop or a Squeezit) to get the Vegemite to your mouth. I also remember Vegetime drinks, which were powders you had to mix with water to get a hot drink (like hot chocolate or beef flavored Bovril drinks).

I used to buy Vegetimes at a canteen in a middle school in Perth. I also remember seeing them at Coles, Woolworths, and BI-LO. I also remember last seeing Vegetimes in 2011 when they sold them under a name that was Vegemite Squeezestix in a children's fete where they had a theme park and some booths.

Lastly, I couldn't find any images of Vegetime (even though it was popular back then). Even my friends know about Vegetime, and they stated that they did like Vegetime.

Can someone help?

Vegemite drink mix? Nah mate, don't remember that at all. I used to have those Squeezestix though! They were so handy for road trips. Maybe someone’s mixed up the memories along the way?

Fascinating request! The product you're describing doesn't align precisely with any Vegemite variant I'm familiar with. However, 'Squeezestix' were indeed a thing—a convenient no-knife, no-spread situation. As for a drinkable Vegemite product, nothing official comes to mind, but crossover food items were popular in promotional events back in the day; it's possible Vegetime was a niche, regional, or event-specific product. If it was as popular as you say, perhaps someone’s got an old photo or an old pack lying around?

Vegetime? Sounds like a Vegemite competitor tryna cash in lol. You got duped by some knockoff brand mate 😂

Hey, I'm from Perth too! I think I remember what you're talking about actually. It wasn't officially called Vegetime but we used to call it that. It was like little packets of vegemite you could squeeze out. Not a clue about the drinks though, might've been before my time or just not that widespread.

dude sounds like a myth tbh, never seen vegemite drink mixes and I basically lived off the stuff as a kid. Are you sure it wasn't some weird dream or something?

Mate, your post's a trip down memory lane! Lift-Off was ace, btw. 😅 I don't remember Vegetime specifically, but ya got the late '90s and early '00s vibes spot on. 'Vegemite Squeezestix' rings a bell. I recall vegemite being in a squeezy packet. The drink mix though? Not so sure of that one.

Indeed, Vegemite has had various iterations over the years. While your 'Vegetime' doesn’t ring a bell for mainstream products, regional tests or limited-time offers might have flown under the radar. Bega now owns Vegemite, and product archives are sparse. You’ve triggered my curiosity though; I'll dig around in some old marketing archives for you.

I vaguely remember seeing something like Vegetime. But I reckon you're mixing two memories together? Vegemite Squeezies are real, look up 'Vegemite Squeezables'. I don't think they had drinks or anything tho...
