Cute dog movie, NOT Air Bud, from the early 2000s??

So my sister and I used to watch this movie over and over as kids. It had this super cute dog, I’m almost sure it was a golden retriever but it was NOT Air Bud. There was a part where the dog saves the day, maybe from robbers or something?? And I'm pretty sure there was a big family and a scene in the park. Can't stop thinking about it. What's that doggone movie?

Not exactly early 2000s but 'Benji' had a reboot around then. Benji saves kids if I remember right. And who can forget that face, right?

Was it 'Fluke'? The dog is not a retriever, but he does save the day and there's definitely family involved. This could be it, but the breed doesn't match your memory.

Definitely sounds like 'Homeward Bound' to me too. Though if you are certain it's not that one, then maybe 'Beethoven'? That one has a St. Bernard though, not a retriever. But it's a big family, big mess, and a rescue scene.

omg might be thinking of 'Homeward Bound'? There are two dogs & a cat and they go on an adventure. The retriever's name is Shadow. Super nostalgic!
