Help finding an old action figure series!

Hi Reddit! I'm looking for this line of action figures that I collected as a kid in the 80s. They were these colorful space warrior types with detachable armor and vehicles that would transform. Not Transformers or GI Joe, but kinda obscure. They had a comic series that came with the figures I think. Would love to get my hands on them again if anyone knows what they're called.

Hey! I've got a blog that covers classic toys and the Centurions are one of my favorite posts. They're exactly as you describe - colorful, transformable and they came with comics. Your best bet to find them would be through niche collector groups or eBay. Keep an eye out on forums as well; sometimes people sell entire collections which can be a gold mine. Good luck on the hunt!

I swear what you're describing sounds familiar, but the name is just outta reach. You hit up any vintage toy shops or collector fairs? Those guys remember EVERYTHING.

lolol maybe those 'colorful space warriors' were just some dollar store knockoffs. jkjk, you could be onto something with a lesser-known line. ever checked under 'forgotten 80s action figures' on ebay?

You might be thinking of Visionaries with those holograms but nope, they didn't have vehicles. oh wait, detachable armors?? those are Centurions, bro. I used to have them wrestling with my other action figures haha

This is almost certainly the Centurions. Released by Kenner in 1986, the Centurions were heroes who wore 'Exo-Frames' that could merge with assault weapon systems. You had 'Power Xtreme!' as their catchphrase, and the three main figures were Max Ray, Jake Rockwell, and Ace McCloud - sea, land, and air warfare specialists, respectively. They were each compatible with a range of vehicle and weapon add-ons. There were also some enemy figures, like Dr. Terror and Hacker. The line didn't last very long, but it had a great appeal for its mechanical designs and the 'build and play' aspect. Accompanying the figures was an animated series that somehow tied into a comic series though not as extensive as say, Transformers.

Are you thinkin' of Centurions, or maybe it’s Starcom? Starcom had the cool magnetic feature but wasn’t as known for armor. Both had comics and toys in the 80s.

Sounds like you're talking about Centurions! They had these exo-suits and you could attach all sorts of weapons and gear to them. I remember Max Ray and Ace McCloud! :D
