Obscure store in America

This one was really the hit. In New York, we used to operate a small store that was like an E3 in a store. It used to sell both new and old videogame consoles, new and old videogames, accessories, Amiibos, video game peripherals, and gaming keyboards, such as the Logitech G. There was even a section for adult only video games and banned video games, e.g. The Gay Game. You could even play video games for free using N64/GameCube/Xbox game stations. Sadly I can't remember the name and it's etched into my motherf*cking mind. Does anyone remember it?

Embarrassed, I found the name of the video game store we owned by myself, it's "Games4Us"! And it's still in operation.

Never heard of Games4Us before, sounds so cool tho! Are the adult-only and banned games section for real? That’s heckin' wild! I gotta check this out. Do they have a website or something?

Games4Us, ah yes! Last I was there, they had a pristine copy of Earthbound complete with the box. The place is a gold mine for collectors like us. Plus, it's got that old-school charm you just can't get online. I hope they're managing to stay relevant with all the retro hype these days.

wait, Games4Us is still kickin'? Thought most of those cool retro stores were wiped out by the big chains and digital stores. Color me impressed! Any idea what's keeping them afloat in this day and age?

Dude, Games4Us?! That's a throwback! Never thought I'd hear about that place again. Remember going there as a kid and just being in awe of all the games lined up. It's like they had every game from every era. Shame a lot of places like that are gone now.

Man, I remember dragging my son to this dreamland for gamers in midtown I think. Could’ve been the same? They had console stations where he played for hours... and I'd leave with a lighter wallet every time. Name escapes me, but those were good days. Son’s all grown up and thrashin' me in online games now, time flies.

Honestly, sounds like a bit of an urban myth, haven't heard of a store with that kind of wild inventory and setup. NYC's had its share of offbeat shops, but this one doesn’t ring a bell. Most places wouldn't dare stock banned games out in the open either, regulatory nightmare!

OMG YES I remember that place! Took a pilgrimage there once. Wasn't it called 'Joystick Junction' or something? They had this sick collection of every console you could think of and shelves upon shelves of games. That adult only section was legendary! Sad to see so many cool places go under :(.

What you're describing sounds a lot like 'GameTime Central'. It was this amazing nexus for all things gaming, from the NES era to the modern PC master race gear. They even stocked rare imports sometimes. Place closed down a few years back because rent in the city got way too insane. Sucks, was like Mecca for us geeks.

idk man, sounds like every gamer's fantasy shop but never heard of such a place actually existing in NY. Sure it wasn’t just a dream store u made up? 😆

This is a shot in the dark, but are you talking about '8-Bit Boulevard'? It sorta became a legend among us old-school gamers in the city. Wall-to-wall classics, plus the latest hits... and those game stations were a blast from the past. The place shut down a few years back, huge bummer.

Hmm, I feel like I heard my cousin talk about a place like this. Was it 'Game-On-Galore' or somethin' like that? They used to have all the sweet setups and a backroom for the mature audience games, super chill place to hang, ya could've lost days in there 😂

Sounds like the spot was a gamer's paradise! Reminds me of a place I used to go to called 'Pixel Haven' - it was tucked away in a side street but man, what a goldmine for retro and hard-to-find games. Maybe that's the place you're thinking of? They had a big collection and even hosted local tournaments.
