Premier TV was an English show that aired on ESPN from 2001 to 2013. The series was meant to promote Premier League, in which the series showed highlights from said league.
The series was hosted by Robert Erick, who had been one of the hosts of the iconic ESPN show SportsCenter. Premier TV also aired on ESPN 2, ESPN Classic, and internationally on NASN (later ESPN America, before it closed) and ESPN Classic International.
Sadly, the entire series is lost. Only some screenshots from Premier TV has been surfaced, including a still from their Christmas episode. Robert Erick once used to have some episodes, but Robert says that he lost them during a hurricane.

Documenting and preserving shows like 'Premier TV' is critical for historical records and sporting culture. It's truly unfortunate that the series is considered lost at this moment. I've written about the necessity for networks to archive their content digitally before it's too late. In the meantime, it would be wise to make public calls for anyone who might have recorded the broadcasts. It's a long shot, but with enough community effort, success is possible. On a side note, one should explore international sports forums as well. Since the show aired globally, there's a chance an international audience might have some leads.

As someone who is always on the hunt for old broadcasts, I feel your pain. Lost media, especially TV shows like 'Premier TV' which had such a specific audience, can be a treasure trove once rediscovered. Have you guys checked eBay for old tapes? Sometimes TV stations would hand out tapes as memorabilia to staff and guests. Hurricane or not, there's hope yet, and every collector knows it only takes one lucky find to crack the case wide open!

Premier TV was my weekend ritual! Erick had this incredible way of making even the dullest match seem epic. The Christmas episode was class, too—I think I saw the still you're talking about with the whole set done up. Such a shame we can't relive those moments. Any chance someone recorded it on VHS and it's sitting in an attic somewhere?

This is indeed a significant loss for sports history. 'Premier TV' was a great resource for soccer highlights during its run. Unfortunately, rights issues with sports broadcasts can make preserving and accessing these shows difficult. While ESPN probably has the original footage, it's not typically in their interest to invest in digitizing and distributing a defunct series. Additionally, with the complication of Robert Erick's copies being lost to a hurricane, we're up against a lot of barriers to recovery. This may be a case where private collectors or former production crew members may hold the key to uncovering any surviving episodes.

i remember premier tv vaguely, it's such a bummer that we can't find full episodes anymore. i miss the good ole days when we could catch up on all the premier league action in one place. anyone tried reaching out to espn directly? they've gotta have archives or something
