Ok so I got tired of my servers just lying around and I've gone full DIY mode to build a server rack at home. Used some old metal shelf frames and a bunch of screws and voila! Got space for my 4 Raspberry Pis, the custom game server I built last year, and room to grow. It's nothing fancy but it's mine. If you're thinking of doing the same, just go for it and get creative. If anyone wants pics or a guide on how I did it, lemme know!

Impressive work! Constructing a customized solution really adds a personal touch to a homelab. It would be great for others to learn from your build process, step by step. Share some documentation, and you’ll help countless enthusiasts out! Curious though, have you implemented any form of smart home integration or central monitoring? Always looking for new ideas here.

This is the kind of energy I need to channel into my setup! Right now it's a hot mess of drives and wires... Did you come across any weight limits with the old metal shelf frames? My storage servers are a bit on the chunky side, so gotta make sure they don’t bring the whole thing down lol.

Love the initiative! I've been contemplating doing something similar but wasn't sure where to start. How did you deal with earthing the metal shelf frames? And what about cable management? I'm a bit of a nut when it comes to keeping the cables tidy, so any tips on that front would be great.

Just saw this and I'm super jealous of your DIY skills! Gotta a space in my garage crying out for a setup like this. Would be epic if you could share a rough guide or maybe a list of the tools and materials you used. Got a couple of old frames lying around and this could be the weekend project I was looking for!
