Went overkill and I love it!

Well, I did it. Got myself an overkill NAS setup. 32 terabytes of pure storage power, 10 GbE network card cuz why not, and a custom water-cooled Ryzen setup cuz I hate noise more than slow file transfers. Threw in a server-grade UPS cuz the electric grid here is as reliable as a chocolate teapot. Yeah, it cost me a pretty penny, but who wants to die knowing they had insufficient NAS power? Not me, friends, not me!

Major NAS envy happening right now... 🤩 All I got is a budget 2-bay NAS. Any tips for a beginner to get on your level without breaking the bank?

32 TB is nothing, my grandma’s iPod has more storage. And everyone knows real pros use carrier pigeons for file transfers, not fancy ethernet cards 😂

Impressive build, hats off. I'm assuming with that level of investment, you're running something like a ZFS filesystem for reliability and data integrity? Give us the deets on your setup, man!

NOISE is the enemy, my friend. Could never go back to non-water-cooled systems. But let's talk acoustic insulation, got any in that beast? Also, what kind of pump are you using - gotta make sure it's as silent as a whisper.

Hmm, quite the beast you’ve put together. But let’s talk about redundancy and backups. It’s not just about how much you can store, but how secure that data is. What RAID setup are you using? And what’s your backup solution, because even with the UPS, there's more than power outages that can toast your data.

Sweet setup! You'll love the 10 GbE network card, the speeds are jaw-dropping. Make sure you’ve got CAT6a cables though, or you won’t see that top tier speed. And yes to that UPS, can’t risk losing data or damaging the hardware. How's the Ryzen holding up with heat under full load, even with water-cooling?

Wow, sounds like an awesome build! Makes mine look like a children's toy haha. But hey, gotta ask, isn't that much storage overkill unless you're hoarding like every movie ever made in BluRay quality? Just curious about your use case, share some details!

Dude, that's some sick setup you got there! 32TB is massive 😮 I’m just drooling over here with my measly 4TB. Water-cooled Ryzen is super cool (pun intended 😂). What kind of drives did you go for?
