Free your data! Decentralize everything!

Tired of Big Tech snooping on ya? It’s time to decentralize and reclaim privacy. Get this, your very own NAS can be part of the solution.

First, hit up that Raspberry Pi 4 for power efficiency. Next, snag a couple of those 2TB PiDrive. Install Nextcloud – you're moving away from Google Drive, Dropbox tyranny.

Secure that baby, Tor for network anonymity, strong encryption with Veracrypt. Remember, only you should hold the keys to your digital kingdom.

Then, hook up to IPFS - the InterPlanetary File System. Your NAS just joined the global node gang, congrats. Sharing is caring, but only on your terms.

Don’t just store, stream with Jellyfin – the FOSS alternative to Plex; no phoning home.

Welcome to the resistance. It’s us nerds vs the panopticon. Stay safe, stay secret. Over and out.

Are we really free if we're connected? Don't assume anything you put online, NAS or not, is safe. They’re always watching, always waiting. Offline is the only real privacy. But hey, if you're going to play their game, at least play it smart.

Jellyfin FTW! It's a solid choice for streaming, just needs a bit of work on the plugins. If you're going for the best experience, run Jellyfin in a Docker container. It keeps things clean and compartmentalized.

Decentralization rocks! 🔒 Remember folks, your NAS is as secure as its weakest point. update regularly, audit your logs, and maybe even consider a UPS to protect against power surges. And don't port forward if you can help it; use a VPN instead for remote access.

This sounds awesome but also kinda daunting for a beginner like me 😬. Got any tips for someone just starting out? Like a step-by-step on setting up Nextcloud or Veracrypt?

Nice setup! Make sure to backup those encryption keys offline and maybe even consider 2FA for Nextcloud login. Don’t forget the basic physical security of your NAS as well. It’s a little geek haven and you don't want it walking away during a break-in!

Just a heads up, even with Tor, absolute network anonymity isn't really a thing. If you're serious, isolate your NAS from your main network. VLANs are your friend here. And make sure you stay up to date on any security patches for all this FOSS stuff.

Arrr matey, welcome to the digital high seas! Good call on the Pi 4, it's a beast for power sipping. IPFS can be a bit tricky to get your head around initially, but man, is it worth it when you do. Be aware that your upload speeds are gonna dictate your sharing capabillities, so don't skimp on the internet plan. Smooth streaming ahead with Jellyfin, argghh!

YES! Finally, someone preaching the good fight. Too many sheeple just hand over their data to Big Corp. Setting up a NAS with Nextcloud is a total game-changer. Encryptions the way to go, just make sure your passphrase is tough as nails. Had to learn that the hard way myself.
